Monica J. Dembny joined the firm in November 2009. She concentrates her practice in family law, including divorce, post-decree issues, custody, guardian ad litem, and child support; estate planning, including the drafting of wills, trusts, durable power of attorneys, and health care power of attorneys; and juvenile law, including delinquency and school issues.

Professional Background:

Monica J. Dembny began her career as an assistant public defender for Will County, Illinois, practicing in court every day. She represented clients on misdemeanor charges and aggravated traffic offenses, including driving while under the influence. She also practiced for four years in juvenile court representing minors in delinquency cases, neglect or abuse cases, truancy cases, as well as representing parents charged with neglect or abuse. She joined the Will County Legal Assistance Program in 2003 where she focused her practice on family law, helping victims of domestic violence obtain divorces and assisting low income clients on custody matters.

Personal Background:

Monica J. Dembny is married and is the mother of 2 children. She and her family moved Oshkosh, WI in 2005, and they have found Oshkosh to be a great place to raise a family. She is President of the Oshkosh Newcomers Club 2008-2010 and has been a member of the Oshkosh Mothers of Preschoolers. She is active in her children’s school.
